Gear Patrol 3.0
The latest, and largest change to gearpatrol.com has been a massive transition on both the site’s front- and backend. The changes left no part of the site untouched and required a full-scale rethink of what design, copy and commercial placements looked like for Gear Patrol’s most viewed platform.
My role as Production Design Director evolved to not only include directing portions of the site that involve our own creative but how we use assets across the site to iteratively improve user experience and create opportunities for partner brands.
My initial role in the site redesign included wireframing initial mockups, evolving UX through quantitative tools like user interviews and surveys and qualitative tools like heat maps. I also drafted layout templates for each story type and worked with engineering to ensure perfect displays on all systems. Post-launch, I was responsible for iterative updates based on user and advertiser feedback and project managing new features as they came up.
